first of all...UT Pharmacy is OVER! Congratulations to the UT 0T4 Pharmacy Class! Officially graduated at the end of April and wrote my licensing exams (PEBCs and OSCE) at the end of May. This past weekend was the grad party downtown @ the Four Seasons Hotel

| NBA PLAYOFFS UPDATE
The playoffs are on and poppin…unfortunately I haven’t been able to catch as many games as I would have liked…but I have been trying to keep up by wasting all my time during SPEP reading basketball websites. So heres my 2 cents on wats gone on so far
Eastern Conference
Personally, im really feeling Detroit. The addition of Hashweed Wallace has been huge. Their interior d and weakside help is amazing. Also their halfcourt trapping is the best ive seen in a very very long time (im thinking back in the old Sonics days when George Karl was running with GP and the Rainman).
Indiana is also doing their thing. After completely humiliating Boston, they should be able to cruise into the conference finals. Jermaine O’neal is just sick. Period. Ron Artest is gonna shut down neone he guards. However, I dunno if they can get to the finals with Tinsley at the point, and their lack of size is really gonna hurt them if they have to play against Shaq, Duncan, KG, etc…
I defin want Detroit to make it to the finals, but between them and the Pacers..its pretty close (yes I know im ignoring the Nets)
Western Conference
Now this is where all the big dogs play. My team right now is the Minnesota Timberwolves. KG IS THE BEST BALLER IN THE L (actually make that…in the world). MVP (to be) and all defensive first team? Cmon…that’s just not fair! Add in Sam I Am (top 5 clutch player), Latrell (gangsta mullet) Sprewell, and subtract Wally (I like to wear sunglasses on the bench) and the Wolves look like they will finally get outta the first round. However, I don’t think they can get out of the west. I don’t think they have the experience yet.
Im predicting the winner of LA vs San Antonio is gonna go on to win the championship. Personally, I would have to say im a LA hater. I hate Kobe (but admit he is damm good), and don’t really like Malone or Shaq too much either. I do like GP but the Triangle offense is really really messing up his offensive game. As for San Antonio, I think they are the best overall "team." I picked San Antonio to win it all again at the beginning of the season and I guess ill stick to it. I don’t particularly like the Spurs too much either, but as long as Duncan is healthy and playing well, they will be very hard to beat.

| Streets of New York
Back from NYC…was a good trip. For a full recap (extremely detailed) of what went on you can check it out here. We did NOT get to go to Harlem  like I had planned, due to our potential "homelessness" on Friday night. I wanted to go check out 145th and Broadway (DIP SET bitches)…shoot some dice on the corner…push some weight on the block…but I guess there is always next time. BUT we did get to run some streetball in Manhattan…broke some ankles…ykno the usual...haha…so it was all good. Overall had a great time…and defin gotta give much love to Akiko (that 40 drinkin, blunt smokin ride or die chick) for puttin up with us the whole weekend and showing us around!
Musicology
Prince is releasing his new album Musicology. And he is coming to Toronto this summer on his tour. So hopefully I can get off my lazy ass and go buy some tickets before it gets sold out. I was so surprised when he was performing at the Grammys with Beyonce but they defin did their thing…glad to see him back releasing some new music finally. Cam’ron recorded a song sampling Prince – Diamonds and Pearls on the Diplomats Vol 5 Mixtape.
Last weekend was chillin…had a good time. Got a Palm Soul Aura reading done on Saturday, don’t ask me what the hell that is because I still have no idea. I would describe it as someone talking to you while they randomly colour around an outline of your handprint...but it was free so I guess I cant complain.
Also went out to Vinnies and got to try my first "cookie" . I feel pathetic saying this…but one cookie can really really f*ck u up! Newayz…had fun playing the games with my stolen tokens from Walmarts recruiting nite at Vinnies last semester (stop aiming for the 100s! don’t be so greedy!)

| The Jump Off
the hospital rotation is going well so far. Ive gotten to know almost all of the patients on the floor and ive been here long enough to be able to see how dramatically patients can improve after a couple weeks of treatment here from the time that they are admitted. The psychiatrist asked me to come up with an antidepressant recommendation for one of his patients. I worked up a plan last week and presented it at rounds and it got implemented last weekend (who knew that those pharmacy care plans actually work???  ).
In other pharmacy related news…I found out that im gonna be interning at Pharma Plus in Mississauga this summer. Unfortunately ill probably have to work 12 hr shifts (9 to 9) but at least ill finally be getting paid.
Starting to look forward to the summer…even tho the weather is still damm cold. Sparkin Ls by the "beach" (I feel stupid calling it a beach…sandy area beside the bacteria infested lake is more appropriate) and outdoor ball downtown every Sunday…waiting for my chance to audition for the And 1 street mix tour…too bad there is already a baller called the Phamacist ). Time to cop some new 1s, fitteds, and throwbacks….
New York State of Mind
Gonna be headin off for some "big pimpin up in NYC" this week, planning on leaving Wed nite and hopefully drive into the city by 3 or 4 in the morn (as long as we make it across the border). | QUIET STORM
time for another update. well im now currently working downtown at the Centre for Mental Health and Addiction (CAMH). Im working in the GPU (general pyschiatry unit) which mainly holds patients who have conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and pyschosis. I got to sit in on a new patient interview on my first day there, which involved a bipolar patient with severe depression. I found it kinda funny because there were four of us in the room with the patient (a pysch medical resident, 3rd year medical student, social worker and myself) but everyone in the room looked so young...we all looked like we were barely out of high school....i wonder if the patient noticed that too?? Newayz, it seems really interesting so far, and all of the patients have very "unique" stories (ie. one man tried to kill himself by walking infront of the TTC, another man tried to electrocute himself in the bath, and a woman killed her bird by suffocating it inbetween her breasts!!!  )
I been sick since the weekend, but I was hoping that I could fight it off like I always do, but it didn’t work. I think that my body is trying to put me thru a self-imposed detox, so ill take that as a hint to cut down on smoking that sticky icky. I went to the dr’s office today to try and get some drugs but he said I had a viral infection and turned me away empty handed  . But I didn’t give up that easily, I went to the drug store after and hooked myself up with some cough syrup with Codeine! hahah
Is neone watching COLLEGE HILL on BET?? it seems like im the only person watching that show...newayz...i dont care...that show is funny az hell. Someone recently pointed out that the only reality shows that i watch on TV are the black ones...which is tru when i thought about it since i only watch College Hill and Making the Band 2.
And I know this is kinda late (Im not really a movie person), but I just saw the movie LOST IN TRANSLATION…and I have to say that that movie is damm good! I loved Bill Murray’s character, and for some reason I could totally relate to everything that he was going thru in that movie.
